2020: An Exciting Year of Challenges

I really love goal setting and more than anything, I love accomplishing big goals. For this year, my biggest goal was to abstain from using social media, and I have done just that. I’m really eager to get back on. I’m finally ready to share things again.

For 2020, I have decided one challenge is just not enough!

January, I will be completing the Whole 30 program. It will overlap a little into February’s challenge due to the reintroduction of foods after the 30 days.

February, I will be doing a water challenge. Each day, I’ll need to reach my water goal. The exact amount is to be determined.

March, I will be doing 30 days of random acts of kindness. Each day, I’ll do something intentionally kind. It will range from the smallest things to some more extravagant gestures.

April, I will be doing 30 days of mediation. There are a lot of great apps out there and I will be taking time each day to do probably 3 minutes of meditation in silence.

May, I will be doing 30 days of cards. Each day I will be writing a card to someone. It could be for a birthday or for someone who is sick or whatever the occasion.

June, I will be doing 30 days of blog posts. I will be posting a blog post for every day of the month! This will definitely take a lot of thought!

July, I will be taking 30 days off of social media. Life tends to get really quiet for me in the summer, so it just makes sense to hit the reset button while things are already in a lull.

August, I will be doing 30 days of reading. Instagram captions do not count. I will be reading printed materials or old journals or whatever.

September, I will be doing 30 days of journaling. I keep a journal, but it definitely lacks consistency, so this will be great.

October, I will be doing 30 days of songwriting. During the week, I will have keyboard and guitar access. But on the weekends, I can just work on lyric writing.

November, I will be taking a picture every day. I probably won’t post them all on Instagram or anything, but I may compile them here for accountability. I’ve actually been doing this all year long on the app Day One. It gives me my social media fill.

December, I will be getting rid of something every day. It can be as simple as giving something in my pantry to a food bank (which I know some people have negative opinions on…) or cleaning out a junk drawer or donating a book to Goodwill.

So…here’s hoping I can stand firm and complete each challenge to the best of my ability!
